Privacy Policy

Overview

This privacy policy explains how Chinese Word Wheel ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information. We believe in being transparent about data practices, and we've written this policy to be clear and easy to understand.

Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be upfront about what the App does not do:

• No account required. You can use every feature of the App without creating an account or providing any personal details.
• No personal information collected by us. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifiable information.
• No server-side storage. We do not operate backend servers. All game data — your high scores, level preferences, and settings — is stored locally in an on-device database (SQLite) and never transmitted to us.
• No analytics SDKs. We do not use any third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking frameworks beyond what is built into the advertising SDK.

Information Stored on Your Device

Chinese Word Wheel stores the following data exclusively on your device:

• Game settings: Your chosen difficulty level (grade 1–5) and the number of characters displayed per round (3–7).
• High scores: Your top scores and the name you choose to associate with each score on the leaderboard. You can enter any name you like — it is not tied to your identity and never leaves your device.

This data is stored in a local SQLite database within the App's private sandbox. It is not accessible to other apps, and it is removed when you delete the App from your device. You can also reset this data at any time by deleting and reinstalling the App.

Game Center

Chinese Word Wheel supports Apple Game Center. If you choose to sign in to Game Center, Apple may collect your Game Center nickname, scores, and achievements in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. Game Center data is managed entirely by Apple and is subject to the privacy controls in your device Settings. You are not required to use Game Center to play the App.

Third-Party Advertising: Google AdMob

Chinese Word Wheel displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob is a third-party service provided by Google LLC that may collect and use certain information to serve ads — including personalized ads — within the App.

What AdMob May Collect

According to Google's documentation, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:

• Device information — device model, operating system version, and screen size.
• Advertising identifier (IDFA) — Apple's Identifier for Advertisers, used to serve personalized ads and measure ad performance.
• IP address — which may be used to infer general (not precise) geographic location.
• App interaction data — such as ad views and clicks, for ad measurement purposes.

How Google Uses This Data

Google uses this data to serve ads that may be more relevant to you, to measure ad performance, and to prevent fraud. Data collection and processing are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Your Choices

• Limit Ad Tracking: On your iOS device, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track." The App will then serve non-personalized ads.
• Reset your advertising identifier: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and toggle the setting off and on to reset your IDFA.
• Google's Ad Settings: Visit adssettings.google.com to manage how Google personalizes ads across apps and websites.

Children's Privacy

Chinese Word Wheel is an educational game designed to help learners of all ages practice Chinese character recognition. The content is organized by elementary school grade levels (Grades 1 through 5), which may appeal to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). Because all game data stays on-device and we do not operate servers, there is no mechanism for us to collect, store, or process children's personal information.

Regarding advertising: Google AdMob provides controls for child-directed apps. We have configured the App to serve only non-personalized ads where required, and we filter ad content to be appropriate for a general audience. Data Security

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data is protected by the built-in security features of iOS, including app sandboxing and file encryption. We do not transmit or have access to your data.

For data handled by Google AdMob, Google employs industry-standard security measures as described in their privacy policy.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), or similar regulations. Because we do not collect or process your personal data on our own servers:

• Access & Deletion: All data the App stores about you is on your device. You can access your scores and settings within the App at any time, and you can delete all of it by removing the App from your device.
• Opt-out of Personalized Ads: Use the iOS tracking controls described in the "Your Choices" section above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our data practices, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Significant changes may be communicated through an in-app notice or an App Store update description.
